Emile Fraysee
Emile competed for twelve years as a cyclist, winning over 300
races. He coached and managed the 1928 and the 1932 US Olympic
teams. Emile was a founding member of the Amateur Bicycle League
of America in 1920. He served as the president of the ABL of A
from 1929 to 1933.
Freddie Spencer
Freddie won the US Professional Track Sprint Championships in
1925, 1928 and 1929. He competed in 102 six-day races, winning
six major international meets. He set six world records during
his career: 1/10 mile, 1/2 mile, 10 mile, 15 mile, 20 mile and
25 mile. In 1925, he won the National Track Sprint Championships
and two six-day races, a true tribute to his versatility and talent.
Connie Carpenter-Phinney
Connie has won four World Championship medals; Silver in the 1977
World Road Race, Bronze in 1981 World Road Race, Silver in the
1982 World Pursuit and Gold at the 1983 World Pursuit. She brought
back the Gold Medal from the 1984 Olympic Games and has won 12
national championships. She has also competed in speed skating
and rowing and has coached the USCF Junior Woman's Team.
Mike Walden
Mike has been the coach of the Wolverine Sportive Club for over
40 years. He has coached 60 US National Cycling Champions, 8 World
Champions, 2 Pan Am Gold Medalists and over 100 State Champions.
Among his more famous riders are Hall of Famers Sheila Young-Ochowicz
and Sue Novara-Reber in addition to such notables as Connie Young,
Roger Young and Frank Andreau.
