Fred "Pop" Kugler
Pop spent his lifetime in the sport of cycling as a professional
racer, coach and race organizer. A champion cyclist in his own
right, he became famous as the founder of the Tour of Somerville
and as a trainer of national and world champions. In 1936 he won
the American Pro Tandem Championship. As a coach, Pop led the American
Amateur Cycling Team in a 1951 month long tour of Japan.
